Joanna has a diverse common law practice and accepts instructions in line with Chambers’ main practice areas.
Before joining the self-employed Bar, Joanna worked as an advocate at a national solicitors firm specialising in general civil litigation, employment law and costs.
Joanna is qualified to accept instructions via the direct access scheme.
Joanna accepts instructions in cases across the civil spectrum including contractual disputes, nuisance, trespass, housing, landlord and tenant and employment. She also has a detailed understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and provides advice on prospects of success in general civil cases, as well as advises on quantum in personal injury matters.
Joanna has a strong criminal practice, regularly appearing in the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Courts. She has successfully represented clients on a wide range of offences in single and multi-handed cases, including burglary, robbery, ABH, and sexual offences.
Joanna has a particular interest in complex Driving cases, and represents Defendants charged with Drink Driving, Careless and Dangerous Driving, Speeding, and other driving offences. Joanna has undergone specific training, and has experience in dealing with, the technical arguments, which regularly arise in Drink Driving trials.
Joanna has an expanding family practice, and accepts instructions in private law family matters, as well as matrimonial finance hearings and domestic violence applications.
