Michael has recently represented defendants accused of robberies, including armed robberies; cases involving vulnerable witnesses including video-link cases; cases involving dishonesty, theft, deception and in particular breach of trust allegations; burglary and aggravated burglary offences; murder (including allegations of multiple murders); fraud, including complex multi-million pound frauds and frauds by government officials; conspiracies to manufacture and produce sophisticated false identity documents; sexual and gross indecency offences; rape, including multiple rape and buggery allegations including those within the family; kidnapping, false imprisonment and blackmail; road traffic, excess alcohol and related offences; violent disorder, affray and other offences against public order; firearms, explosives, terrorist and associated offences; allegations of violence including extreme violence, racially aggravated violence and violence against young children within the family and people trafficking. Also, violence allegedly by senior teaching staff against pupils; drug offences including allegations of major drug conspiracies.
Michael has also been concerned in criminal cases involving analysis of scientific and forensic data and has successfully opposed HMRC in civil confiscation proceedings.
