Goldsmith Chambers continues its webinar series covering topics which have been impacted by Covid-19. Also covered within the series are areas which are expected to be in high demand once restrictions begin to ease.

Family Team:Looking at witness statements in family law proceedings and discussing applications under FPR Part 25.
Civil Team:Considering business insurance claims arising due to Covid-19 and the enforcement of judgments in civil proceedings.

Oliver Newman and David Giles will be looking at the principles of interpretation of insurance contracts and what businesses may be covered for in the Covid-19 pandemic. They will be discussing the FSA test case including key questions involved, issues of causation and practical steps that can be taken to bolster a claim.

In this webinar, Joanna Gillan and Shárin Diegan look at witness statements in family proceedings with particular focus on narrative statements in financial remedy proceedings and witness statements in private law Children Act proceedings.

18 June 2020, 3:00pm – Children Applications and Sole Responsibility in Immigration

Lawrence Youssefian has considerable experience in representing parents, who have sought to bring their child to the UK under paragraph 297 of the Immigration Rules. He will explore the precise requirement of ‘sole responsibility’ and deliver a whistle-stop tour of relevant case-law. Lawrence will also provide a best-practice guide on how to make a successful application under paragraph 297 of the Rules and how to prepare for a successful appeal under this rule.

19 June 2020, 3:00pm – Disclosure and Telephone Evidence

When should the Prosecution disclose a Complainant’s telephone download? What evidence must the Crown serve if they wish to rely upon evidence obtained from a Defendant’s telephone? In this webinar, Jerry Hayes and Marie de Redman outline key cases and considerations to answer these two crucial questions.
