Lawrence Youssefian of Goldsmith Chambers’ immigration team presented a webinar entitled “Indefinite Leave to Remain on Long Residence Grounds under para 276B: What to do after the Court of Appeal case of Ahmed”

The webinar recording can be viewed by clicking on the link here and the supporting slides, which accompany the webinar, can be accessed here.

Lawrence explored the requirements for indefinite leave to remain on long residence grounds and discussed possible arguments following the Court of Appeal case of Ahmed.  This held that any previous period of overstaying, even within the ‘grace period’ would break the continuity of a person’s continuous lawful residence in the UK. Lawrence explored how to try and overcome this judgment in long residence applications and appeals.
