David Barr

David became a member of Goldsmith Chambers upon the successful completion of pupillage in November 2020. He accepts instructions in crime and immigration.

During pupillage, David was supervised by Jerry Hayes, Sarah Pinder and Samina Iqbal. Prior to coming to the Bar, David worked in the litigation department at a leading global law firm working across their public law and financial services departments. He has previously been involved with a number of organisations working in the criminal justice sector both here and in France such as the Innocence Project, GENEPI and the Learning Together Programme.

David has experience in dealing with vulnerable witnesses and defendants and has completed accredited Vulnerable Witness Training. He has also completed additional Youth Justice training from the Youth Justice Legal Centre.
