Christabel practices in a broad range of areas, with a particular focus on criminal, human rights, mental health law and family law.
She is adept at offering dedicated representation and advice which is tailored to each client.
Christabel is also Direct Access qualified and has assisted in cases ranging from Article 2 Inquests, a Gurkha pension judicial review, to those facing criminal charges for the first time. She is both intuitive and pragmatic in court and offers a multi-disciplinary approach to her cases.
Christabel’s other interests include activism, writing, martial arts and Jesus. She regularly undertakes endurance sporting challenges, including the Kent Road Runner Marathon in 2014, Leeds Castle triathlon in 2016 and is currently training for the Windemere Marathon in 2018.
Before the Bar, Christabel worked on projects internationally for the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions in Israel/Palestine and against the death penalty in in New Orleans for Louisiana Coalition for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and the Capital Appeals Project.
Christabel has a busy criminal practice, in which she both prosecutes and defends across the breadth of criminal areas, including drugs, offences against the person, sexual offences, fraud and other dishonesty offences, and police cases. She has a growing expertise in defending Requested Persons in extradition proceedings in both Category 1 and Category 2 territories.

R v CB – Defended in novel contested extradition of a Bulgarian national to Bermuda, involving Articles 3, 5, 6 and ECHR points
Christabel accepts instructions across the full range of family areas, including matrimonial finance, private law children, public law children, domestic abuse, TLATA and other remedial applications.
She has a particular specialisation in Child Relocation cases, both inside and outside of the jurisdiction, successfully acting for both Applicant and Respondent.
She is sensitive and personable with clients, adept at successfully negotiating with litigants in person and promoting the interests of vulnerable clients.
