Catherine was Called to the Bar in 1999 and is an established practitioner specialising in Public and International Human Rights Law. She has over twenty years of experience in the First Tier and Upper Tribunals, as well as the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Catherine’s research at Cambridge encompassed elements of forensic criminological psychology and psychiatry, and she is regularly Instructed in cases involving vulnerable clients with mental health difficulties. She also practices in the fields of European Law and business migration.

Thorough in preparation and erudite in Court, Catherine has a very high success rate and has been involved in numerous notable cases.

Catherine has also received many Judicial Commendations commenting on her professionalism as a ‘well respected and highly experienced Counsel’; and on her work as being ‘in the highest traditions of the Bar’. A Judge recently wrote in his judgment, ‘Miss. Bexson deserves the highest praise. Barristers like her do credit to the profession and indeed it is a privilege and a pleasure for any Tribunal Judge to have such an advocate appearing in the Tribunal’.

As well as enjoying a busy practice, Catherine has published articles and case Law updates for practitioners; and has advised on legal content for television. She has also contributed to study and careers guides for Law graduates, mentored trainee practitioners and given careers talks to aspiring advocates.
