Dilwar became a member of Goldsmith Chambers after successfully completing a specialist third six pupillage under the supervision of Mr David Giles and guidance of Mr Dilan Deeljur. Dilwar is developing a broad practice encompassing Chambers’ civil litigation areas with a particular focus on Landlord and Tenant disputes.

Prior to joining Goldsmith, Dilwar successfully completed pupillage with the Crown Prosecution Service (“CPS”). By completing his crime-based pupillage with the CPS, Dilwar has acquired a wealth of court room advocacy skills and therefore it will continue to benefit his current practice.

Before obtaining pupillage with the CPS, Dilwar spent several years as an in-house lawyer and fee earner for a specialist property litigation firm. During this time, Dilwar became a senior member of the Landlord and Tenant Litigation Department. He handled a wide range of housing dispute matters, including drafting pleadings and written opinions on niche points of law. Furthermore, Dilwar previously worked as a property litigation paralegal for a regional firm in East Sussex dealing with service charge and ground rent arrears disputes.

In addition to his legal background, Dilwar worked as a Research Assistant for the University of Sussex on a project concerning hate crime in Sussex. Dilwar has also volunteered at various organisations and provided unpaid legal support. Such organisations include: Free Representation Unit, Family Advice Scheme, Sussex Law Clinic and the Citizen Advice. The experience gained has enabled him to truly empathise with and easily relate to clients of all ages and backgrounds.

Dilwar has been commended by clients for his pragmatic and client-friendly approach, combined with a determination to ensure a positive outcome for all his cases. He works collaboratively with professional and lay clients, and understands the importance of providing a high-quality service.

Dilwar is a conscientious and professional advocate who is engaging and personable both within and without the courtroom. He has been repeatedly praised for his due diligence and client care in difficult cases, as well as the quality of his written work.

Dilwar can provide written advice, drafting services, and advocacy, at all levels and stages of litigation in civil matters.

Dilwar is Public Access (‘Direct Access’) qualified, and is available to accept instructions directly from members of the public in respect of matters relating to general civil law.
