Niamh began her pupillage in April 2025 and Anthony Metzer KC is her pupil supervisor.

During pupillage, Niamh has built on her knowledge of immigration and asylum law. She has gained experience in asylum, human rights, and deportation appeals in the First-tier and Upper Tribunal, including assisting with written work in these areas. She has been commended by senior colleagues and instructing solicitors for being thorough and diligent.

Niamh has experience as an OISC caseworker. She advised and prepared cases in a broad range of immigration and nationality matters including family and private life, EU Settlement Scheme, and visitor visas, and worked on pre-action correspondence in judicial review cases.

Niamh has dedicated significant time to voluntary work and will incorporate pro bono work into her practice. She volunteered for the Ukraine Advice Project, so has expertise in the Ukraine visa schemes, and at Migrants Organise, where she supported service-users with asylum support issues. She was known for her patient and sensitive approach with vulnerable people. Niamh welcomes instructions in asylum support matters.

Prior to pupillage, Niamh worked at the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA), a registered charity which advocates for improvements to immigration, asylum, and nationality laws and policies. Niamh worked collaboratively on policy advocacy around access to justice and legal aid, and the administration of justice in the tribunals. She is dedicated to publicly funded work. Niamh also co-ordinated the Strategic Legal Advice Committee, so has a robust understanding of strategic legal challenges and a keen interest in public law and judicial review.
