International Human Rights

Members of our International Human Rights team act on behalf of individuals and non-governmental organisations before national and international courts and tribunals. Our barristers have been instructed to represent clients in the ECtHR, the CJEU and before the UN Human Rights Council, and have advised in conference throughout the EU, as well as in Hong Kong, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Our experts include Anthony Metzer KC – a leading silk with significant expertise in international human rights and EU law; Charlotte Bayati – a renowned expert in Article 3 ECHR claims involving medical issues; Tamara Solecki who successfully represented the Romanian Royal family at the ECtHR; Jan Doerfel who spent several years working with the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, carried out UN fact-finding missions and conducted human rights training in Syria, Russia, Ukraine and Germany; and Sanaz Saifolahi – a leading junior with significant expertise in cases relating to EU Law and the EU Withdrawal agreement.

 

Members of the International Human Rights team frequently work with foreign lawyers on cases where there are international or multi-jurisdictional elements and continue to be available to travel to work or advise on matters relating to international human rights.
