Meyrick Williams Secures Acquittal in Blackmail Case

News

Meyrick Williams acted for the lead Defendant charged with a Conspiracy to Blackmail an international footballer over his relationship with a female Defendant having captured him on compromising video.

At Trial today, the jury unanimously acquitted him and all his other co-defendants. This was despite the female Defendant, who had been in a relationship with the footballer and also caught on video, having pleaded Guilty to the conspiracy and given evidence for the Prosecution blaming Meyrick’s client.

This is now reported in The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, the Mirror, The Metro and The Sun.
