Sara Anzani secures permission to apply for judicial review in accommodation claim

News

Sara Anzani, a senior practitioner in Chambers’ Immigration and Public Law team, has obtained permission from the High Court in a challenge to the Secretary of State for the Home Department’s delay in providing accommodation to her client, who has been granted support under Section 4 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

The delay thus far resulted in the Claimant’s continued detention. In granting permission, Deputy High Court Judge Hugh Southey KC noted the significant delay in arranging accommodation and ordered that the matter be expedited. The substantive hearing will be heard on 9th July 2024.

Sara is instructed by Scott Laing of Bhatia Best Solicitors.
