Essex Justice Service

News

We were pleased to send a Crime Team contingent to support the 2025 Essex Justice Service, by invitation of the 845th High Sheriff, Mrs Julie Fosh, and the excellent Deputy High Sheriff, Roger Brice ( formerly of Gepps and then Birkett Long solicitors – now taken over by Knights).

Claire  Read, partner at Knights, managed the procession which proceeded in ceremonial robes from Chelmsford Crown Court to the Cathedral.

The theme of the service was focused very much on communities coming together in the wake of the terrible events in Manchester and supporting all those working to help disadvantaged youth and keeping them away from crime.

The event was attended by the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Lord Burnett of Maldon, resident Judge of Chelmsford Crown Court HHJ Chris Morgan who addressed us at the drinks reception afterwards, and Crown Court Judges and others involved in the justice system through the County.

Our attendance and support was much appreciated.
