Advocate Bar Pro Bono Awards 2022

News

Chambers is delighted to announce that two members of Chambers have been shortlisted in the Advocate Bar Pro Bono Awards 2022.

Senior family practitioner, Julie Okine, has been shortlisted for the John Collins Pro Bono Excellence Award.

Julie has been committed to consistently providing her time to pro bono work since 2006 alongside her busy practice. Julie enjoys being able to provide support to Advocate and is amongst the first to volunteer to requests for help to cover gaps in the rota or to cover urgent cases.

Joint-head of Chambers’ immigration and public law team, Sarah Pinder, has been shortlisted for the Junior Pro Bono Barrister of the Year category.

In the last 12 months, Sarah has continued to dedicate significant amounts of her time to pro bono work.  In particular, these awards coincide with over a year passing since the Taliban took Kabul and overturned the Afghan government and, Sarah has worked tirelessly pro bono on numerous Afghan cases.

A very special thank you also goes to Julia Needham, senior criminal practitioner, who works tirelessly in Chambers as our Pro Bono Champion for Advocate.

Congratulations and good luck to Julie and Sarah as well as to all the other shortlisted candidates! The winners for the Junior Barrister category as well as the further shortlist for the Excellence Award will be announced on 2nd November 2022.
