News

At the kind invitation of the 846th High Sheriff of Essex,Susannah Dutton, and the Under-Sheriff Roger Brice ,former partner of Gepps solicitors and friend to Goldsmith Chambers, members of Chambers attended the annual Justice service at Chelmsford Cathedral, preceded by the procession from Court to the Cathedral, in which they took part fully robed as required.

Chambers were well represented with Rod Johnson KC, Dingle Clark, Alex Wright, Daniel O’ Malley and Stephen Page in attendance.

Also present from the judiciary were Mr Justice Jason Coppel KC, the Resident Judges of Chelmsford and Basildon HHJ Chris Morgan and HHJ Sam Cohen respectively, as well as Judges and local dignitaries and Mayors from across the county including the Lord Lieutenant for Essex, Jennifer Tolhurst, and the Chief Constable of Essex, Rachel Nolan.

The service was inspirational with fine music and singing from trumpeters, organ and the Cathedral choir, and excellent speeches from Sam Cohen and Susie Dutton from the pulpit afterwards, emphasising the value of our justice system and the importance the roles played by everyone working within it.

It was a privilege for Goldsmith Chambers to be invited.
