Dr Proudman to represent women’s refuges in family court case about service of court orders

There have long been concerns that refuge residential addresses are inadvertently disclosed to parties in family law proceedings. A court case later this year is set to address the correct procedure for serving family court orders on mothers staying in refuges. 

Dr Proudman is instructed by Rights of Women to represent women’s charities and refuges in the High Court where they shall propose an appropriate procedure to ensure that mothers are served with court orders in a safe way.
