Heather Beckett successful in HCPC Registration Appeal

News

The Education and Training Committee of the Health and Care Professions Council had refused an application for registration by an applicant who had made a character declaration regarding a conviction involving dishonesty. Heather Beckett represented the applicant at the oral appeal of the decision, instructed under the Public Access Rules, and successfully argued that on the basis of all the evidence now provided, including the circumstances of and passage of time since the conviction, and the appellant’s insight, the refusal should be quashed and registration granted.
