Jerry Hayes interviewed on Channel 4 News and the BBC

Jerry Hayes was prosecuting counsel in the criminal trial of Liam Allen, who was facing multiple allegations of rape, and which received wide-spread media attention from Friday 15th December 2017.  As part of his duties, Jerry helped to ensure that a disc containing a vast number of text messages from the complainant to Mr Allen was disclosed into the proceedings.  This helped to avoid, as Jerry described, what could have been a very serious miscarriage of justice.

You can access Jerry Hayes’ interview on Channel 4 News here and read more about the case in The Times’ article of the same day here.  Jerry was also interviewed on the Victoria Derbyshire programme on the BBC and you can access this interview here by scrolling to 40:38 min.

In particular, jerry speaks more widely of the cuts that have continued to hit the criminal justice system, which is “not just creaking but is about to croak”.
