Goldsmith Chambers was delighted to be commended for its “Outstanding Achievement” for the ‘Case of the Year’ award -the only category where there was specific mention for anyone but the winners -for the landmark case of SSHD v Banger , in which Anthony Metzer QC and Sanaz Saifolahi were instructed, at last night’s Lexis Nexis Legal Awards; the award was given to Mischon de Reya for their prorogation of Parliament case. Chambers was also short-listed for the ‘Pro Bono Award’, the nomination related to what is a significant proportion of Chambers’ work, in part building upon the recognition Anthony and Sanaz received at the recent Advocate Pro Bono awards in 2019.
Anthony and Sanaz were joined in attending the ceremony by the joint heads of the immigration team, Sarah Pinder and Samina Iqbal, as well as Sangeetha Iengar and Asli Ozalgan, Chambers’ Operations and Business Manager. All were delighted to be able to congratulate Baroness Hale on her Lifetime Contribution Award. Members of Chambers would like to extend their congratulations to all of last night’s nominees and winners and their thanks to Lexis Nexis for a fantastic evening.
