A jury in Wolverhampton Crown court has unanimously acquitted Marie de Redman’s client who was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Firearm contrary to s. 5(1)(aba) Firearms Act 1968. Ms de Redman, instructed by Khurram Rashid at Knightswood Solicitors successfully defended the man, relying upon the defence that the firearm was an antique, possessed as a “curiosity or ornament” as per s.58 of the Act.
