Anthony Metzer QC and Charlotte Proudman published in The Times

Articles

Anthony Metzer QC, Head of Chambers, and Charlotte Proudman, of the family and immigration teams, co-authored the article “Abuse victims deserve a well-funded justice system – Structural problems that have led to falling numbers of rape prosecutions cannot be solved without sufficient resources”.

An extract of this article has been published in The Times online today, 18th December 2019. You can access the article here. The article follows yesterday’s publication of a report by HM Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate, the prosecution watchdog, which records a considerable fall in prosecutions and successful convictions.

Anthony and Charlotte demonstrate how this has resulted in the state failing in its duty to end violence against (mainly) women and girls by allowing perpetrators of sexual violence to abuse with impunity.
