Goldsmith Chambers is running a webinar series to cover topics within the areas that you specialise in and which have been impacted by Covid-19. Last week, viewers enjoyed four webinars across civil, family and immigration law topics and a record 391 persons attended.

18 May 2020, 3:00pm – A Guide to the Form E

The Form E is an important tool in the financial remedy process. Dr Charlotte Proudman and Shárin Diegan will be discussing the various sections within the Form E and how to ensure that you have completed each section as fully and accurately as possible.

19 May 2020, 3:00pm – Covid-19 and possession proceedings in residential leases

David Giles and Ian Cain will be discussing the current restrictions to possession proceedings during the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the implementation of the Coronavirus Act 2020 and CPR PD 51Z. The webinar will focus on what Civil Litigation Solicitors and their Landlord Clients can do to prepare for the lifting of the restrictions in relation to Section 8 and Section 21 notices.

20 May 2020, 3:00pm – Schedule 1 Cases – A Very Brief Introduction

Joanna Gillan and Dr Charlotte Proudman will present a very brief introduction to Schedule 1 cases, the criteria and powers to make financial orders under Schedule 1. This webinar will look at and the ways in which the courts apply Schedule 1 in practice and at the relationshipbetween Schedule 1 and the Child Maintenance Service (“CMS”).

21 May 2020, 3:00pm – Bail and Unlawful Detention Claims

Anthony Metzer QC and Pierre Georget will cover a whistle-stop tour of bail applications and understanding administrative detention and when this becomes unlawful, with a focus on how each of these may have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The audience will beprovided with Anthony’s thoughts and expertise as a leading silk, who has acted in many unlawful detention claims including civil actions against the police, presenting along-side Pierre, who brings grassroots experience as a highly specialised immigration and public law barrister.

22 May 2020, 3:00pm – Enforcement of Child Arrangement Orders

Shárin Diegan presents an introduction to the enforcement of Child Arrangement Orders. This webinar will discuss the steps to enforcement and the penalties and remedies available to the court. It will also consider the issue of reasonableness.
