You can see directly below the running order for this week’s webinars as well as details on how to book yourself in.

2 June 2020, 3:00pm – An introduction to mediation and other dispute resolution mechanisms

Adam Gersch and Ian Cain present a Webinar on mediation and the other ‘alternative’ dispute resolution [‘ADR’] options available to litigators and their clients. Adam and Ian will use their knowledge and experience as accredited mediators to outline the merits of ADR, review the most popular ADR mechanisms, assess the impact of the global Covid-19 pandemic and provide practical tips for what litigators can do to ensure that they, and their clients, obtain the greatest benefit from engaging with mediation

3 June 2020, 3:00pm – Varying Financial Orders

Dr Charlotte Proudman and Joanna Gillan look at varying financial orders. Charlotte and Joanna will look at the process and will discuss the key considerations and common pitfalls and how to avoid them when making an application to vary a financial order.

4 June 2020, 3:00pm – Has Coronavirus changed the UK’s Hostile Environment Policy

In this webinar, Bronwen Jones and Sangeetha Iengar will take a deep-dive into some of the hostile environment policies, exploring how they have evolved over time to entrench hostility towards migrants and how they have been procedurally or legally adapted, extinguished or preserved during the Coronavirus pandemic.  Specifically, Sangeetha and Bronwen will discuss the ‘overt’ legal mechanisms of the hostile environment – the right to rent, right to work and no recourse to public funds policies.  An overview on relevant case-law will also be provided.

5 June 2020, 3:00pm – Police Station Interviews during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Marie de Redman and Hannah Gladwell present an update for solicitors and police station representatives on the steps that should be taken to conduct interviews safely and what options exist for practitioners and suspects if they aren’t, followed by consideration of how those interviews might be approached by the Courts when they come to be tried.
